Using all of the typography found on a product label, a grid-based composition was produced exploring size relationships, spatial interval, and weight. A second composition was generated with more dynamic movement and scale change. Visual notations were made of each, analyzing eye movement, massing, and structure. Tone, texture, and shape are substituted for the typographic elements.
This project is designed to encourage an understanding of the abstract properties inherent in existing typographic forms. An exploratory attitude toward space and visual organization is developed.
